The Power Mac G4 Cube is a small form factor Macintosh personal computer from Apple Computer, Inc., sold between 2000 and 2001. Designed by Jonathan Ive, the Cube was Apple's attempt to miniaturize a powerful desktop computer into compact size less than 8 inches (20 cm) to a side. There are three ways to circumvent this issue: Instead of double-clicking on the standalone file to run, right-click on it and choose 'open'.
The pre-installed operating system was a specialized version of Mac OS 7.6.1, which allowed control over those features. It is the last Macintosh model able to boot and run System 7 natively. Expandability was offered via a 7-inch PCI slot and Apple Communication slot II for the addition of Ethernet.
